A band of crickets play an orchestral tune, a sweet breeze tussles the hair that frames my pale face, the sun sinks down into hibernation for the night, an iridescent glow comes from the abdomen of flying insects, His presence thick.

Help me to see You Father. Help me to see You in the blade of grass that catches the first tear from the sky. Help me to see You in the first break of dawn when all the creatures of the land awaken. Help me to see You when the clouds roll as if they were dancing across the horizon. Help me to see You in the new life of spring when all things are graced with restoration. Help me to see You when the leaves let go of where they have been attached to for a season.

Help me to see You when things don’t go to plan. Help me to see You when what I thought was best for me turns out the be anything but. Help me to see You when the loneliness pulls me away from You rather than draws me to You. Help me to see You when my heart feels so heavy it hurts to bear the weight. Help me to see You when it feels like my life is crumbling around me. Help me to see You when I let moments slip through my hands like sand. Help me to see that all things work for Your glory, for Your good. Help me not only to see You but to seek You Father.

Help me to seek You even in the darkest nights. Help me to seek your face, your goodness. Help me to seek you in every season Father, even when I don’t understand.
